Success Stories

Karen

Karen lives at Peak group home in Winamac and she loves spending time with her father. She visits him at his home every other weekend.

She is a fan of country music. We aren’t talking county pop, we're talking real country music. Her favorite performers are Conway Twitty and Donna Fargo.

Karen is a shopper. She will shop anywhere and everywhere and particularly likes to go to garage sales. Karen likes to get out into the community and would someday like to live in her own home.

Jim

Jim's mother was a champion in the field of developmental disabilities starting in the early 1950's. She was a staunch supporter of this organization form the beginning.

Jim attended Jefferson and Hendricks Schools, both established by the forerunner of this agency. He started working at Logansport's Work Services as a teenager.

Jim is very active in the community. He is an avid church member and enjoyed the many roles he portrayed with the Logansport Civic Players. Jim loves to dance and can be found break dancing when a favorite songs comes on. He also exercises at the Cass County Family Y and participates in Special Olympics.

Kati

Kati is a family woman. She spends a lot of time with her mother, father, brother and sister-in-law. She likes to talk on the telephone. She also likes to dress in her best outfit and go somewhere special.

Kati has worked at Winamac's Work Services for several years and has made many friends. She has the best of both worlds: She is living as independently as she can, and she has the comfort of her family close by.
