The Waiting List Grows At a meeting of providers in Indianapolis on Thursday, May 1, Peter Bisbecos announced that while the State is making every effort to take individuals off the waiting lists, the lists are growing. As of May 1, 2008, the waiting lists have grown to more than 17,000. In 1998, the number waiting was 6,000. In 10 years, the number has grown 183%. Mr. Bisbecos is the Director of the Division of Disability & Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) of the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration. Itty Bitty Comes to Visit ![]() ![]() Itty Bitty should really take visitation up as a career. She seemed to enjoy all of the attention she was getting. For such a little girl, she certainly seemed to have a big heart. She let everyone touch, pet and hold her, and didn’t get at all excited about the fuss. Thank you, Anita Kline, for sharing! Thrivent Financial Donation For more than 100 years, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has created programs and opportunities for Lutherans to support their congregations and institutions and to reach out to their communities. Over the past 12 years, Thrivent Financial has provided more than $1 billion for charitable, benevolent and educational purposes. ![]() This year, the Cass/Carroll County Chapter of Thrivent Financial purchased several items for the new Document Destruction site in Logansport. These items may sound insignificant, but to this program, they are a true blessing. First and foremost, the new building now has a loud door buzzer to alert staff when someone has a drop-off at the door. There is also a tool kit with various hand tools, a vacuum, push broom and large dust pan. Logansport Work Services also received some industrial aprons for consumers doing jobs that might ruin their clothing. Once again, to the kind folks at Thrivent Financial, THANK YOU for thinking of persons with developmental disabilities when making your contribution! Your Membership Dollars Matter Membership funds are used to promote advocacy, and to provide an opportunity for staff, volunteers, consumers and families to reach out to local, state and federal government officials. We intend to make as many trips to Indianapolis as possible in the coming months to talk to appointed and elected officials about the pending rate and consumer budget crisis. Thank you for helping fund this effort Renewing Memberships ![]() Larry Beach Laura Bailey Ben & Sally Bechdol Rita Bell Ellen Bland Ron & Doris Blume Jim & Enid Callaghan Robert & Carol Carroll Arden Cramer Robert Crispen Scott & Karen Fritz Rose Ann Garrison Stuart & Rachel Gast Chod Gibson Bette Graham Nicki Gunter Evelyn Haselby Gregory & Donna Hermance Patricia Hughes Larry Johnson John & Sharon Jones Barry & Dawn Jones Robert Knapp Dennie & Debra Lauer Linda Leasure Deena Lowry Phyllis Maw Rich & Barrie McClain Shawn & Kim McLochlin William W.
