State of the Economy

As you all know - given the state of your own pocketbook - the economy is not as robust as it has been. This has taken a toll on our fledgling Foundation.

From the beginning, the Foundation realized that in order to grow and to become a vibrant financial resource to our communities it must spend monies conservatively. Thus, the Foundation vowed to spend only interest income for the foreseeable future.

The basis of the Foundation is not in any danger. The shortfall we face is a shortfall of funds available (interest income) to serve individuals on the waiting list.

Applications are being accepted, but for now, if an application is received we cannot guarantee service. If you would like to submit an application, contact Kathi Thompson at (574) 753-4104 ext 128.

We are doing our best to be good stewards of the funds you have donated, and we continue to serve five (5) individuals. We made commitments to serve them until they come to the top of the State’s waiting list and they receive funds from the State. We will do this, and we will continue to raise funds to add to the base of the Foundation, and thus to add to our ability to serve.

Help Us Help Those Who Need Support

If you know someone - anyone - in the State of Indiana who has a developmental disability, or who has a family member with a developmental disability, and you don’t know if that person is receiving support, please ask. If that person is not receiving support, ask if he or she is “on the list.” If the answer is “no,” give them this newsletter and encourage them to Get On The List!
