Support For The 200

At the Dream High Breakfasts we were able to report that five individuals are receiving support because they applied to the Foundation for funding.

Two of those individuals are actually being served using United Way dollars at the Logansport Work Services program.

Three of the five are funded through the Foundation. One person is receiving support from Community Living, one from Family Support Services and one from Work Services in Winamac.

In February, the Foundation Board met to consider additional requests for support.

The Foundation was able to bring two more individuals into service. Both will be served in Winamac.

A young woman will receive support that will allow her to learn to operate independently in the community.

A young man will receive support in the Work Services program. He will learn job skills and will be able to participate in group educational activities.

Thank you for all that you do to allow us to provide support where it is most needed.

You May Still Apply For Support

If you are one of the nearly 200 people on a waiting list for services in Cass or Pulaski County, you may still apply for bridge funding - funding for support at Peak Community Services from now until the time you come to the top of that list. These are the steps to be taken to become eligible for consideration for support.

Complete and sign application information to the best of your ability.

Provide proof of being on a waiting list for waiver services for persons with developmental disabilities.

Provide up to one letter-sized (handwritten or typed) page of information that explains the circumstances surrounding the need for support.

Identify which support services you would like to receive, and how much.

The Peak Community Services Foundation will provide funds for support services to men, women and children who are on a waiting list for waiver services.

Recipients must agree that once they come to the top of the list and are offered government funds, they will report this change in status to the Peak Community Services Foundation.

Assuming funds are available and services are still offered by Peak Community Services, the Foundation will maintain funding for each applicant chosen until government funding begins.

Please contact Kathi Thompson to receive an application.
