The theme of Disability Awareness Month 2008 is “Attitude is Everything.”

The poster features a group of teenagers playing a game of pick-up football. The poster illustrates the theme by showing the “tough” attitude required during a competitive football game, as well as the fun participants have when they play together.

The text of the poster reads, “When you champion a winning attitude for yourself and your team, you can achieve anything.”

The message of this year’s awareness month campaign is to show how important positive attitudes are to accomplishing goals in life, both for people with and without disabilities.

Peak Community Services will be living the theme this year. We are going to champion a winning attitude this year on behalf of those we serve.

We will be in full swing with annual membership efforts by the time this newsletter reaches you. Our goal is to maintain our current membership and add another 50 to our numbers.

Our focus will be on advocacy, and trust us when we say you will notice our attitude!
