Challenges & Chances: Dual Diagnosis of MI/DD (Mental Illness and Developmental Disability)

This film series is most often used as a training tool for new staff. Each DVD contains three (3) 15-minute films. The series is accompanied by a workbook that can be downloaded from this site. The workbook is divided into three distinct sections, one for each training film.

Film #1: Ben's Day. Now that Ben has moved out of the hospital, he needs a chance to learn some new skills to get along responsibly in the community.

Film #2: Ben's Behavior. Each day offers challenges and opportunities. With support, these will be met with positive results and lead to increased independence.

Film #3: Ben's Medication. Medical conditions often mimic psychiatric illness or medication reactions.  Because Ben cannot verbalize certain problems, both he and staff members can be frustrated.
